Hi I'm Shelley

I'm a mother of 4. I like decorative painting and beading. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife, and mother. I have 4 children. I love spending time with family and friends. I'm blessed to be a 'stay at home' mom. I like to eat healthy, walk my dog and exercise regularly. Some of my hobbies are beading/jewellery making, decorative painting and cross-stitch. I also like to read and go to the movies. I love pizza and cheesecake, and chocolate is my weakness! I enjoy cooking and trying new recipes (especially ethnic). Spending time in my flower garden is one of my favorite things. I'm a mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church since birth. I've always known it to be true. I don't know for sure when I gained my testimony growing up, I just know that at some time I decided for myself that this is where I want to be! The gospel brings me great peace, joy and comfort in my life. The strength I have is based on my testimony of Jesus Christ and the atonement. I know through faith; through living the commandments and serving in the church, that I can return to our loving Heavenly Father. I'm so grateful that whatever I go through in this life isn't for nothing, for there is the promise of eternal life. The gospel teaches so many wonderful principles like; repentance, forgiveness, service and charity, sacrifice, faith and hope, just to mention a few. I have a strong testimony of the strength and power of prayer. I know Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers. I testify that I am strengthened and grow spiritually every Sunday as I attend church. I feel so blessed to be a part of this wonderful organization!

How I live my faith

In our Ward, I take part in the ladies organization and serve there. I help to organize events and activities, as well as teach lessons on Sundays. I am so grateful for the close friendships I have with the ladies at church. We gain from one anothers strengths and appreciate what each has to offer. We are all different, and yet we share a closeness and oneness as we focus on the blessings and teachings of the gospel. I am also a visiting teacher. Each month I visit a few of the ladies in our Ward in their homes. I have a visiting teaching partner; we go together and visit and leave a spiritual message with each lady. They know we are there for them; we are just a phone call away! Special friendships and trusts are developed through this association. (Each lady at church has visiting teachers). Visiting teaching is very important and I have a strong testimony of the blessings and support that comes from this truly inspired program.
