Hi I'm Reilly Hutchins

I'm a musician, I'm a missionary and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 19 and i am currently serving my mission in the Brasilia Brazil Mission. I love music and I love playing my guitar and singing. I have played in many local bands back at home, and just got finished recording a 5 song demo CD with my latest band before I left on my mission. I play soccer, Ballroom Dance, love to work on cars and hang out with my friends I love the Gospel and the peace it has brought to my life and I am so blessed to be able to serve a full-time mission and teach people and share my faith!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I want to be. It is a choice that I have made personally, and it is a choice that makes me very happy. I love being LDS. I have a whole other family away from my own. A support group that never lets me down. I know that this Church is true and that Jesus Christ lives. I know that He not only died for my sins, but for all my pains and sufferings and weaknesses, and that when I am down, I can take advantage of that Atonement, and feel peace once again. I know the power of prayer has the ability to calm any situation, and quell any doubt through the presence of the Spirit.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a full time mission in Brasilia Brazil. I will return home in June 2013 with Honor. I live my life striving to be worthy of the Blessings of the Lord, and hope that one day I will be married in the Temple for Time and all Eternity. I taught an adult class in my Home ward, and home taught with another brother. I was active in the Chruch choir as well as my local Singles Branch and the many activities they put on. I strive in everything I do to be an example of The Church, including in the music that I write and play. I do all I can to help others in need, and love the opportunities I get to serve and uplift others.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

Reilly Hutchins
Not all Mormons are required to serve missions. It is not a required to serve a mission to be a member of our church, but it is strongly recommended for young men around age 19 to serve a 2 year mission. This was a decision I had to make for myself, and it is not one that I took lightly. It required alot of sincere praying and pondering on my plans for the rest of my life. I decided to serve a full time mission, and have seen the blessings so strongly in my life. It is an opportunity that I do encourage everyone to take advantage of, and an experience that I will never regret. Show more Show less
