Hi I'm Alan

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and the father of 6 children - all of whom are grown and live throughout the world. I have lived in Ft Collins for over 35 years and am retired from working at Colorado State Universiy. Ft Collins has been a wonderful place to live and raise a family. I have been interested in sports for many years and have volunteered as a youth coach for many years. We have enjoyed following our children in their sports activities in Junior Highr School, High Scchool , and also in college. Sports can be a great teaching tool because they help youth and parents to understand that if they are going to be successful in sports or in life they have to work diligently at what they are doing. There will be both success and disappointment but failure only comes when one gives up.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it teaches those things are are most important in life. We are all the same in that we all are looking for joy, peace, and satisfaction. Some people seek it in a form that is very temporary. The fulness of the gospel of Jesus Christ is the only thing that will bring lasting peace and joy. I have felt that in my life and have meet many others who have also found that to be true. If we just try to live the gospel principles He taught we can find the happiness that we seek. The gospel has brought so much joy into my life - not just as I do things for myself - but as I strrive to serve others. Seeing others find that joy is about the sweetest thing we can feel or find.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith by making my life as Christ-like as I can. Basically I try to live the gospel principles in my life and strive to help others whenever I see that need. My daily goal is to somehow make a positive difference in the life of someone around me. When I go forth with faith in Jesus Christ great things can happen. As I strive to make a difference in someone else's life I find that my own life becomes richer. My goal is to be worthy to return home to be with my Father in Heaven, my elder brother Jesus Christ, and my family and loved ones.
