Hi I'm Maria

I'm a sports enthusiast. I'm a stay-at-home mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married for four years. We have one child. I'm a stay-at-home mom and love it! It is a joy watching my child grow and develop. Some days are tougher than others, but it is worth it. I love being a mom. I graduated from college with my degree in Exercise Science. I love to learn about the human body and play sports. I run 4-5 times a week, and enjoy doing 5ks. My favorite sports are soccer, basketball, racquetball, and golf. I enjoy reading a variety of books--historical fiction, memoirs, fantasy, science fiction, and medical books just to name a few. I love to be outside. I enjoy camping, hiking, and gardening. I am also beginning to like cooking. It is fun to experiment with new recipes and create something yummy to eat. My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family playing games, talking, and just being together.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, simply, because it makes me happy. Life is tough, there are lots of challenges I face. But through living the teachings of Jesus Christ I find peace and happiness. I believe that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints contains the complete teachings of Christ. My trials haven't disappeared by I find the strength to overcome them through living the fullness of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith each day the best that I can. I try to live what I am taught and reach out to those around me---family, friends, and neighbors. In my ward (local congregation of Mormons), I have the opporunity to work with the youth. I teach the young women, girls ages 12-18, in my ward on Sundays. I also help plan and supervise activities for the young women during the week. It is lots of fun hanging out with the youth.
