Hi I'm Alan!

I'm a convert to the Mormon church.

About Me

Hi! Thanks for taking the time to drop by! I am a Mormon and have been now for almost 9 wonderful years. I am very blessed to be married to my best friend, Denise. Our Father-In-Heaven has blessed us with four children and five grandchildren and we love and cherish them dearly. Denise and I are fortunate enough to work for Lockheed Martin on contract with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Ca. This way, we get to have lunch together everyday! I love to play golf and fish although I don't get to do them very often. But, when I do I try to make the best of every opportunity I can get! I also enjoy using computers. You would think I get enough of that at work but the internet is so vast and there is nothing you can't find out there. I truly believe Heavenly Father gave us the computer and the internet so that we can spread the Gospel to all the people of the earth. It has certainly been invaluable in making geneology work easier and quicker! I also love playing with my newest grandson, Ethan. He's only 10 months but what a blessing. I now know what cute really looks like!

Why I am a Mormon

As a young child I was blessed to have parents that made me and my brothers attend Sunday scholl. Although they never went to chhurch with us they made sure that we started our lives with a love for Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. As the years went by, my father being in the military, we moved from one military base to another, each time findng a new church. After graduation from high school, I went off to college, was drafted into the Army, married and although my love for Christ never feigned, I did not attend chuch regularly. Then one day the missionaries came knocking at my door. In the past I had always some excuse for not letting them in but this time was different. I invited them in and, as they say, "the rest is history"! For once in my life the Gospel came alive. I knew in my heart that what they talked about was true. That Joseph Smith was visited by Jesus Christ and by our Heavenly Father, and that he did restore the one true church back on the face of the earth. I know that the book of Mormon is true and that it is another testimony of the truthfulness of Jesus Christ. I thank Heavenly Father everyday for never giving up on me and for sending those missionaries to me even though, many times, I just sent them away. I ave been blessed in so many ways and I know that He will continue to bless my life and my family's. I am a Mormon because I know that this Church is true!

How I live my faith

I have been blessed in so many ways to live my faith by being given the opportunity to serve both my Lord and Saviour and my Heavenly Father. As a High Councilor in the Stake I get to talk at Ward meetings to express my love for them and to serve our Heavenly Father. I also get to serve as the Stake Missionary Leader and work with the Zone Leaders and full time Missionaries as they manifest their calling to "bring back the lost sheep". As a Temple Veil Worker, I get the wonderful opportunity to serve the Lord in His Temple. To perform those works that will "bring to pass the immortality and eternal life on man". I also get the opportunity to work with our young priesthood holders that are preparing themselves for missionary work. What strength and love they show for the Gospel and for their love for Heavenly Father by their dedication and willingness to serve, as well.
