Hi I'm Shannon

I've traveled to most of the continental United States. I'm a stay-at-home mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated with a Bachelor's in English (writing emphasis), and instead of a minor I did clusters in Chinese and Dance. I've been dancing ballroom since I was 14, and in college I started dancing Ballroom Cabaret/Theater Arts, which consists primarily of lifts and drops. It was challenging and exciting, and I miss it a lot. I gave it up to get pregnant with my first daughter, and she is worth any sacrifice on my part. She's one year old, and I have another baby on the way. My husband and I have been married almost three years. I also enjoy making jewelry. I spent a summer working in a bead and jewelry shop, and since then I've taught beading and pearl-knotting classes in several states.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it makes sense both in my head and in my heart. I've studied the scriptures, and I've prayed about them. I've seen how the organization of the church is set up to take care of both the temporal and spiritual needs of the members. I've seen the Lord's power in my life and felt his peace and love. I especially love the doctrines of families being together forever and that those who die without hearing the gospel of Christ will not be condemned, but will be given the chance to receive and accept that gospel after this life.

How I live my faith

I've been moving a lot lately, so I don't have any official position in the church right now, but I've still found opportunities to serve. Lately I've assisted with music in the children's classes (many places are always in need of pianists), as well as volunteered to teach activity nights for the 8-11 yr old girls (we did a swing dancing class and made bracelets).
