Hi I'm Lisa

I'm a Mormon. I'm a wife, mother, and work full time in senior management for a Fortune 100 company.

About Me

I'm a wife, mother of 2, full time manager for a Fortune 100 technical company, school and church volunteer! I like spending my money on my favorite charities and on making memories, such as visiting Mayan, Greek, Roman, Turkish ruins or a beach house or cruise with extended family. With spare time, I like reading or figuring out how to communicate with pre-teens/teens and playing around with redecorating my house. I have the best husband ever; he gets annoyed with me, but never angry; makes awesome chicken enchiladas and irons all my clothes...what more could a girl want?! My son is currently serving a mission in Georgia, Florida, etc. My daughter is just starting middle school! Ancestry: half Spaniard from Dad; part Irish, etc. from Mom.

Why I am a Mormon

I have complete PEACE and confidence in my life because of what I've learned being a Mormon. I know who I am (a daughter of God), I know where I was before I got here, and where I'm going when I die (to return to live with God) and what will then happen after that! I know what choices to make that will bring me the most happiness (by following Jesus Christ by reading the scriptues, study lessons, attending church and more, exactly how to repent without lingering guilt forever). I am a seeker of knowledge and I have not found this much detailed knowledge and truth anywhere else. I have read the Book of Mormon and Bible and anyone who really commits to doing that will just know that these books were written for us. It just makes sense that Jesus would have visited others and that they would have recorded their interaction with Him. It just makes sense that we would have a living prophet on the earth today and it feels PEACEFUL to know that we're led for these modern times by a prophet. The more I follow what I learn being a Mormon, the more I KNOW it's a good path and I have true JOY in my life...not just happy...but inner joy. I was born of really goodly parents. Mom joined the church when I was 7; Dad when I was 14.

How I live my faith

As of 2011, I've been the president of the women's organization in my congregation for 3 years now...the Mormons have the largest women's organization in the world! In our congregation's women's org, we've reached out and sought out those in need, especially during the bad economy, and through the help of our congregation's leaders, we've been able to help many in need...whether it's with food or some meals after surgery or delivering a baby, or helping an elderly sister pack and move. We're very organized as every willing woman also has an assignment to 'watch over' 2-3 sisters in our women's organization...they check in on them monthly, bring uplifting messages, and encourage them in their life goals. Our 'sisterhood' is strong as we also meet monthly to enrich oursleves...last month we sponsored a parenting workshop and this month we're going to learn more about our financial know how, while next month we will focus on tools for handling feelings of being overstressed or overwhelmed. and, every sunday, just the women meet for almost an hour with a volunteer instructor to lead us in a discussion to on a basic topic, such as faith or reptentence. By particpating in all that being a Mormon offers, I have been able to strengthen my family, my spirituality and help others to do the same while helping to carry each other's burdens.
