Hi I'm Colton

I love snowball fights, people think i'm goofy, and you betcha i'm a Mormon.

About Me

I would say I am just your average joe. I really love being in the mountains and outdoors, growing up in Utah I always had oppurtunities to go and do fun things in the outdoors. I especially like to snowboard during the winter and skateboard during the summer. However more than anything i really just love to laugh and to be around people that love to laugh. No matter what we are doing we should always be able to laugh and have a good time. I have always loved being around good friends who are there for me and who like to have fun together.

Why I am a Mormon

There are definately alot of reasons that I am a mormon. The first and most important reason that I am a mormon is because I know that more than anything else in the world, this faith will bring me closer to God than anything else ever could. I know with all my heart that the Book of Mormon was inspired of God. The second reason that I am a mormon is because i believe that religion is more than just a title or a group, but it is a pattern of living. In this church the focus is bringing joy into the lives of others and serving them as best we can. The focus however is not always just solving problems for other people, but helping them to learn how to solve their problems for themselves, showing them how they can rely on God in order to solve those problems. I like anybody else have faced trials in my life, no body ever took those trials away for me, nobody ever will, and if they did that would destroy the purposes that God has sent me here for. We must learn in this life how to overcome, and how to rely on Jesus Christ and his enabling power in order to do so. That is why, I am mormon because it teaches me how to do so more than anything else ever could. I have prayed and recieved a witness from the Holy Ghost to know for myself that this is true.

How I live my faith

Well I think that the most important way to live my faith is first to just smile and be friendly. I am not perfect at doing this but there is no better feeling than just saying hello to a stranger and seeing their face light up because somebody cares about them. Sometimes we just get way to caught up in our own little worlds and we miss the things in life that make it all worth it, and the things that matter most. Another way that I live my faith is by studying the scriptures every day. I love reading the scriptures because it makes everything in life make sense. When we read the scriptures not only is it a blessing to us but also to those around us, because we can help them find strength to overcome the challenges that they face. Right now I have the great privelage of teaching the gospel as a full time missionary. It is a great joy to see the way that the spirit can influence the lives of others and help them to change their lives for the best. Having all the knowldedge in the world about God and his plan is a great thing, but if we do not act upon the knowledge that we do have than we have that knowledge in vain, and the purpose of gaining that knowledge is gone. Basically I try to live my faith by applying the principle I learn into my daily life.
