Hi I'm Rick

Some call me Rick, Richard, Rickolas, regardless of the name I'm a Mormon/LDS.

About Me

I am a twenty-two year old kid who loves all the simple little things in life. I enjoy going mountain biking, talking to my friends, bowling, road trips are a favorite, technical theatre ,Disney trips with the family, have family home evenings with all my friends/family, taking pictures & playing the paino (even though I'm not too great at either of them), reading the scriptures, and being a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

You see I was brought up in the church and for a really long time I simply just said to all my friends "Ya I'm mormon/LDS". I was one of those people who said I was LDS, but really wasn't really too sure if the chruch was true or not. When I was a senior in high school I was dating this girl who was LDS & very strong in the faith. One night after we had went out to a movie as I was taking her home we got onto the subject of the church. Once we got to her house she told me to wait in the car and she had something for me. A few minutes later she returned with a Book of Mormon in her hand and said "This is for you". I, being an immature 18 year old said "I don't need one of those, I already have one" as I started to laugh. She paused and then asked a question that pierced my heart & soul. Her question was "How often do you read it?". This simple question caused me to truely seek out an answer. I had said my entire life I was LDS but I wasn't too sure myself if it was true. So, that night I prayed to God. I asked God for help. Upon opening up the Book of Mormon the first verse I read told me everything I needed to do. I have never once since doubted that the Book of Mormon is true and that prayers are heard and answered.

How I live my faith

Currently I live my faith by going to church each and every week. I read my scriptures as often as I can and I've also accepted the calling of being a full-time missionary for the church.

How can I find someone to talk with, in person, about the Mormon religion?

On this mormon.org website you can click in the top right hand corner for a MISSIONARY REQUEST. This request will send missionaries who are representatives of the church to you. These missionaries will be happy to answer any questions you may have, and would love to share more about Jesus Christ with you and your family. Show more Show less

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is a spiritual witness from the Holy Ghost to us. We do not know everything all at once but as we excercise faith in Jesus Christ we are able to come to a knowledge of certain truths. For me personally I know that Heavenly Father hears and answers prayers. I know that through the atonement of Jesus Christ we can be forgiven of anything we have done. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and that we are led and guided by a prophet on this earth today, by Thomas S. Monson. I know that Jesus Christ lives. I know that if you too will excercise your faith you can know this to be true as well. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Yes! Isn't that so cool? His name is Thomas S. Monson and he leads and guides the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Show more Show less
