Hi I'm Becca

I'm the fourth child out of nine. I grew up in Washington, have moved 7 times. I love to cook and play sports and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a farming family. I learned hard work from a young age and have been a self-motivated person because of the values my parents taught me. I moved a lot when I was younger, and never went to the same high school for more than one year. My passion for a long time was volleyball. I breathed and lived for volleyball. Then I took a chance and went to school in Virginia and played collegiate volleyball for a year when I realized that there were a lot of things in life more important than a volleyball game. I found out that I love music, hiking, swimming, camping, boating, sitting and reading a good book, watching inspirational movies. Dozens of things that I was not able to participate in when I dedicated almost every second of my day to thinking or playing volleyball. My experience at college, away from the comfort of home and the people I know showed me my potential. Most of all I love my family, my friends and all the people who influence my life and have made me who I am.

Why I am a Mormon

I have found no greater measure of peace or happiness than I've found in living His Gospel. The world and its values offer temporary happiness but the Gospel of Jesus Christ offers lasting joy and peace. Because of the gospel I know that there is a plan for me specifically. I am not perfect and will often make mistakes and stray from that plan but I know that there is a way back. I know that there is a Savior who suffered and died for me. He suffered my pains and sorrows so he could comfort me and send me peace when my world is in turmoil. He took upon himself my sins so that when I make mistakes I can repent and return to live with Him again. I'm a Mormon because I know it's true. I've tested the doctrines and the values of the church and I've had a personal witness that they are true. I'm a Mormon because when nothing else in the world makes sense, the Gospel does. When I can't find answers to my questions, the Gospel gives them to me and when I wonder if there is any truth on earth the gospel reminds me that there is.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the example of the Savior. I love other people, and serve them willingly. Not only do I serve in callings in the church but I try to serve in the community and the workplace. The best and most effective way that I live my faith, which I do not claim to be good at, is just by loving others. The Savior loves everyone and so I try to emulate that example by loving others. Usually evidence of that love comes in the service that I render to others but it can also come in the words that I say and the things that I do.
