Hi I'm William B.

I grew up in Vancouver Washington I love to listen to music and it's a need for me to play Ultimate Frisbee. And I am a Mormon.

About Me

I moved a lot while I was younger; but we eventually settled in the state of Washington. I really love to listen to all kinds of music; and I don't go anywhere without my bulky headphones. When I was in high school I took a couple of Graphic Design classes; and discovered one of my passions. I really love to make digital artwork, and I do that often. I am always coming up with more ideas to make into a picture. The one thing I love to do more than that is play Ultimate Frisbee, I will play a game with anyone anytime. I am still learning the sport but I do love to throw the disc around. I took a break from my schooling to serve as a missionary in Orange County, California. But it has been a great blessing to serve my God for two years; and I am very thankful I did it.

Why I am a Mormon

All though I was raised in the church, growing up, I never had my own personal conviction that it was the true church. But I did know it was something good, which is the main reason I continued attending. This went on until I decided to find out for myself if this was the path God wanted me to take. I had made some smaller attempts during my life; but that main point where my conversion began when I was about 18. I was living on my own and was and the time was quickly coming for me to serve a mission. So I started to do what my leaders had been advising me I should do all my life. I began to read the Book of Mormon, and started to pray; asking God if it was scripture or not. I went through the motions of reading, at first, not really paying close attention to what I read. I would pray, but I would say the same thing every time. And when I would go to church I would mentally check out as soon as it started. So eventually I made it through the whole Book of Mormon and didn't receive an answer; but I decided to give it one more try. So I began to read the book again; but I really tried this time. I paid attention when I read; and I really sincerely prayed. And I even paid attention when I went to church. I through it all, and I can't really pin point an exact time; but I came to know that the Book of Mormon is true. And because of that I now know that this is Christ’s church; and I know that to be true for myself. And I am not following this because I was raised in the church; but because God confirmed it to be true in my heart.

How I live my faith

I, as a rule, try to live my faith by walking the walk; and really try being someone who others can recognize as a follower of Christ. I live a good life style, go to church, and read my scriptures. And usually I don’t need to tell others what my religion is; they just somehow know I am Mormon.

What is being a Mormon like?

William B.
Since we are all Gods children in most aspects of life it doesn’t feel all too different. I go to school, work, and have fun just like anyone else does. But because of the added knowledge from the gospel I have peace in life knowing things like my family is eternal. Personal prayer, scripture study, and attending church helps me to better understand this. Plus I feel a lot better after I do each one of those things that brings me closer to my Savior. And living a life that is in harmony with his teaches gives me freedom and happiness that I don’t enjoy elsewhere. That is why I share this with others because it has brought peace and happiness in my life. And I know it will bring that into the lives of others.. Show more Show less

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

William B.
I do not worship Joseph Smith, I never have and I never will. I know he was a prophet of God called to be an instrument in Gods hands. But that is it, he was just a man. I worship Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
