Hi I'm Dustin James Mortensen

I am a lover of music and art, a brother and a son, an imperfect but loving friend, and I am also a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a student at a community college studying Criminal Justice. I hoping to earn my Bachelor's degree some time in 2012. I am currently single, but cannot wait to finally meet the girl of my dreams someday and be sealed to her in the temple of the Lord, and have some amazing kids! I am an avid lover of music! I consider it an art form, and it is just so amazing and beautiful to me. I can't tell how many times music has helped me cope and make life a little bit easier to understand. I have two amazing parents along with three amazing siblings whom I often take for granted, but love immensely. My life is good :)

Why I am a Mormon

Since I was born and raised in the church the whole "Mormon" thing has really engrained into my life. However, I believe there comes a time in every Mormon's life where they must make a decision to stick with it or move on. For good chunk of my life I was just going with the flow, but not really doing anything to progress. I often made decision's that went against what the church taught, but they ultimately lead me to be unhappy. When I was around 20 I made the choice to turn my life around, try to right my wrongs, and just try to become a better man. I haven't looked back since and it has paid off. I have found that I am much happier going about what the Lord wants me to do. That doesn't mean that life isn't difficult or stressful at times, but it certainly easier having the Lord by your side helping you. I am by no means perfects, but that's okay because I know that as long as I am trying to do my very best the Lord will help me pull through.

How I live my faith

One of the things that's really taught and pushed heavily is try and life a life like that of the Savior, Jesus Christ. He loved everybody no matter what their background or their faults or their differences. It's easier said than done, but I felt that I have done a decent job at it. Based of my own personal experience, I know that if we follow the example Jesus set for us people will take notice and will want to be in our company. They will love us and respect us no matter what our differences.

Are Mormons Christians?

Dustin James Mortensen
We are indeed Christians! It's even stated in the name of our church - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Everything about our church is centralized around what the Savior taught. Even the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ, and helps support the teaches taught in the Holy Bible. I've never quite understood why some think otherwise, but I testify that Mormons are Christians. Show more Show less
