Hi I'm Walter

I was born in El Salvador, grew up in California, I'm a mechanical engineer and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have 4 beautiful children, 1 daughter and 3 boys. I'm a mechanical engineer and work for a pump company in Colorado. I like to watch and play soccer and go hiking and camping with my family. I enjoy cooking and baking with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Catholic and even attended Catholic school in my childhood. While in college I met the missionaries and the girl who would become my wife. My conversion did not happen over night and I had lots of questions and doubts about the church, after all, I had never even heard of the word Mormon before, so the church and its culture was all new to me. As I prayed and learned more about the gospel and especially about the special plan that our Father in Heaven has created for us, I began to have a testimony of the restored church, of the Prophet Joseph Smith and of the Book of Mormon. I still have lots to learn but this I know: that this is His Church and is led by a living prophet, that Jesus lives and loves me and cares for me and for my family. I'm grateful for Joseph Smith and for his simple yet brave question about which church to join and for the answer to his prayer. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

One of the things I love about this church is that it allows each of us to be engaged and feel a part of a bigger family despite of your capibilities and/or inadequacies. Several months ago, a Spanish group was started at our local church and I was asked to lead it and to help it grow. It's been a wonderful experience to, in a very small way, assist the full time missionaries and in bringing people closer to God.
