Why I am a Mormon

I'm a mormon because of my personal relationship with my Savior. He is my best friend, my God, my King and i know he lives. I am forever grateful for his atoning sacrifice and because i love him so much i want to do all i can to live with him again. I grew up knowing i was a daughter of God, reading from the scriptures, learning about a Savior who loves me, listening to a prophet and going to church each Sunday. As a child i may have been going to church because my parents expected it of me, yet i have come to a knowledge that being a mormon is the right thing for me :) I'm a mormon because of the teachings i received as a child from my father and mother. I am so grateful for the strong foundation my parents gave me. They taught me the teachings of my Savior Jesus Christ through their examples. My father taught me from a young age the importance of prayer. finding joy through reading the scriptures, how to love one another and respect and help others around me. My mother taught me honesty, virtue, to respect my body and to know it was a temple of God, to be modest and clean and to look for the best in others. I always knew what they taught my siblings and i were true. I love the feeling of peace, comfort and warmth when i attend church each Sunday, listen to the words of the prophet, reading from the Book of Mormon - which helps me understand the Bible and Christ's teachings so much more. I have prayed to know if Joseph Smith really did see God and Jesus Christ and whether the Book of Mormon truly is another testament of Jesus Christ. I know this to be true - I prayed, the Lord answered, and i followed :) I have seen the blessings that come from keeping God's Commandments and living good standards and principles. I know that God has a plan for each and everyone of us. I'm a mormon because I know and believe that the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints lead to eternal happiness. Oh what joy! :)

How I live my faith

Being a mormon is not just a Sunday religion, its a daily commitment. I strive to make righteous decisions each and everyday. I really do enjoy living my faith :) I strive to simply be the best i can. At times i fall short, tend to struggle but as i read the scriptures and pray to my Heavenly Father, i am reminded how Jesus Christ can help me overcome and be worthy of the spirit. I have learned that he answers our prayers and guides our paths. Knowing that i'm a daughter of God makes me feel of value, that i can contribute to society, and improve. I consider my body sacred and so i strive to be modest and clean. I do not use bad language or use the Lord's name in vain. I strive to keep God's commandments and what he expects of me. A wonderful part of the mormon faith is the belief that we will be together as a family, beyond this life and and for all time and eternity. This belief and understanding gives me even more determination to live my faith daily by being a better daughter, wife, sister and friend. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the joy it brings into my life :)
