Hi I'm John

I love the South, I love traveling, I love the life I live, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 20 years old, i was born in Oregon but did not live there long. My dad was in the military so I have moved several time in my life 12 to be exact. I have lived on the east and west coasts and also in Japan. I have most recently been on the east coast and i love it and I love the south. I love how green the landscape is and all of the wildlife. Im am a serious outdoors man, I love hunting, fishing, camping, boating, offroading, rock climbing, etc. I also am a pretty big sports fan, I play Soccer and Lacrosse when ever i get a chance. I also really like bowling. I am now on a mission serving in beautiful Southern California. When i get home i plan on going to college, and studying Business, and getting married some day!

Why I am a Mormon

I I am a Mormon because, I have found that following the teachings of Jesus Christ, is the only thing that makes me truley happy in this world. I have strayed from the path of Christ, and sinned. I have found out for myself, just like we are taught in church we "have to live in the world and not of the world." Following the teachings of Christ is what makes me truely happy. After leaving the church and just doing whatever I wanted (sinning), I thought I was happy but really i wasn't. As time went on and i had quit going to church and had no good direction in my life, I found my self working a deadend job and going no where in life. That is the point I realised that i was'nt really happy. I started to think, when was the last time that i was truely happy? I eventually realised that the last time when i was happy was when i was going to church and following the teachings of Christ and bettering myself and the people around me! At this time time I then decided to move back in with my parents, to change my life and prepare to go on a mission. Six months later i got my call to serve a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints! Now i am on a mission serving the Lord, in beautiful southern California! It is and was, truely the best thing I have ever done in my life.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving the lord with two years of my life, folloing the words of our latter day prophets and serving a misson! Working to help others come unto Christ the same way I have! It is the greatest thing I have ever decided to do. I get to work every day, go out and cry repentence, as we learn in the scriptures. As missionaries we work 7 days a week for 2 years, to help people come to know the same truths we have come to know. Teaching people to pray, and ask God to give them answers about the principles we teach. To read the Holy Scriptures with them, and to help show them the things we must do to find peace and joy in this life. It is no doubt the greatest calling I could ever ask for. This is how I live my faith!

Are there restrictions based on race or color concerning who can join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have the priesthood?

John
Well from someone with has lived in the South, many people believe that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, does not treat people of other races and ethnicity's the same. I can tell you this is False, they treat everyone the same. If there is any kind of difference it is from the people not being perfect, and letting their own thoughts disrupt what God's will is. Every worthy male, who has a desire and meets the specific qualifications, has the oppertunity to hold the priesthood. It has nothing to do with ones color, race, or ethnic background. It is all determined bye your obedience to God's commandments, and your willingness to serve him! Show more Show less
