Hi I'm Lonny

I have worked in Ethiopia helping improve the dairy industry through education and embryo transfer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a small farm in rural Idaho. At college I met and married the girl of my dreams. We now have seven wonderful children. I have worked in the dairy industry for most of my career. I currently own my own business consulting firm and recently started a non profit networking organization. I am active in our community and have served in two different appointed positions.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon family but was taught from an early age that I had to be my own person. In my teen years I spent a lot of time studying the Bible and other religious writings and praying to God for guidance. By the time I was 19 I felt confident that the gospel of Jesus Christ was critical to my and other peoples long term happiness. I volunteered to go teach others for two years. I spent two years teaching the wonderful Spanish people in southern Spain about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Since that time I have served the Mormon church in many different capacities because I love to work with and help other people develop their faith in Christ. The gospel of Jesus Christ brings tremendous peace and happiness to my life. That is why I am a Mormon

How I live my faith

Jesus Christ set the example for us to live our lives. I try and follow that example. I pray for spiritual guidance in my life and follow the ideas and impressions that come to my mind and heart. I learn from my mistakes. If I feel bad after doing something I know I shouldn't have done it. I commit to change that behavior and move on. I attend church meetings to learn from the scriptures and the teachings of others. Sometimes I don't feel like I get very much out of the meetings but usually I either learn something new that will help me in my life or at least feel better about myself. The best benefit of attending the meetings is to surround myself with other people that are trying to improve their lives also. We become a good support group for each other.
