Hi I'm Yeeun

I'm Korean. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in the church in Korea and both of my parents are converts. All four of my grandparents are now going to church. I'm the second child of six. At age twenty, I came to the United States alone to go to school, majoring in Visual Art. Now, I am serving my mission in Idaho to help and invite others to come unto Christ. I love my family, who love me and support me back in Korea, and I love my Lord who grants me these blessings I have now.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I grew up in the church and had been taught everything I should know about the gospel, I felt like I didn't have a firm testimony of it. Seemed like everyone knew the gospel was true, but me. When I was in senior year of highschool, I knew I had to figure out something for my future, and this religion would be the first thing that I should start with. I started to pray and study the Book of Mormon every morning and night to know if the book and this church is true. The examples of my sister and my parents motivated me keep doing it. Several monthes later, two sister missionaries in our ward came up to me and asked me to help out a discussion with a non-memeber girl and share my testimony about the Book of Mormon. I was afraid and I felt I wasn't the right person for that, but I went out with them anyway. Even in the moment right before I bore my testimony in the discussion, I was still doubting. But as soon as I opened my mouth and said that I knew the Book of Mormon is true, I felt the Spirit that confirmed what I'd just said was true. Infact, I'd always known it's truth, but it was a feeling of confirmation that what I'd known was true. This experience helped me decide to go on my mission, because I wanted to help everyone to have the same joy and happiness that I found from knowing this gospel. This gosple tells you that you are the children of God and He loves you, listens to you, takes care of you all the time no matter who you are.

How I live my faith

As I said, I decided to go on my mission and now I am serving the Lord in Idaho, trying to find and teach people who are either conciously or uncounciously seeking for the truth. From my mission, I've noticed that many people have already notied that there are something missing in their lives, but just don't know what that is. All I want, as a full-time missionary, is to find those people and help them understand what Jesus Christ had done for us and how He loves all of us. That's what the gospel is all about.
