Hi I'm Brett

I love the Savior. I love all things music. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love listening to all kinds of music. I love watching all kinds of sports. I have a mom and a dad who love me, and older sister and two younger brothers. I'm taking online college classes while I work at an car preventive maintenance shop. I served as a full time missionary in Orange County for two years and it was an amazing experience.

Why I am a Mormon

I guess I'm a Mormon because I want to be. I have a sincere desire to follow the Lord's teachings and ever become closer to Him. It all started with what everyone needs to do to gain a testimony of this restored gospel. I read the Book of Mormon, I prayed about it, I kept the commandments and did all the other things that the Lord asks us to do before He blesses us with a testimony. I was blessed to know that God lives and loves us, that Jesus is the Christ, Joseph Smith is a prophet, the Book of Mormon is true, and we have a prophet on the earth today to guide us. Enduring to the end, however, is much more difficult to live than it is to say. What I've noticed about following Christ is that its a sometimes seemingly endless road of heartache, stress and discouragement. But, when we continue to trust the Lord, show our faith, repent daily, make and keep sacred covenants, follow the subtle promptings of the Holy Ghost, blessings come. Without fail. The Lord always has His hand lovingly extended to take ours when there is nowhere else to turn. When we take His hand, and follow Him, He will help us endure and overcome all the deceptions and lies that come from the adversary. Without fail. When we do what He asks, He will bless us and help us. Without fail. Once you get past it all, our job on this earth is to love everyone as much as God loves us. Its hard a lot of the time. Life is hard. But when we try our hardest to love with the perfect love that God has for us, it all becomes bearable. I wasn't converted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am continually being converted to Christ every single day as i follow Him. Its a process. I love my Savior with all my heart. If I can impart any wisdom to you, it will be to open your heart to the Holy Ghost and strive to find Christ's restored gospel. I promise you that it is true.

How I live my faith

I am living my faith by sacrificing my time, my talents, and my efforts to serve the Lord I'm any and all ways He asks. It is difficult, but over time, I have and still am learning that when I do what the Lord wants me to do, he helps ease my burdens and strengthens me so I can bear up my burdens with ease (Mosiah 24:14-15). I currently have the responsibility if being the president of a group of single adult guys and helping them and the women in our congregation continue on their path as disciples of Christ. It is a wonderful experience.

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is holy scripture that goes hand in hand with the Bible. We believe that God loves all His children, and since He does, He gave his word to the people in the Americas as well as the people in the middle east. The Book of Mormon is God's word to the people in ancient America. The Book of Mormon tells the Lord's words through the prophets in the americas, along with their dealings, the wars and contentions between the Nephites and the Lamanites, and of the ultimate destruction of the entire Nephite civilization. The crowning point of the Book of Mormon is when Christ Himself appears to and ministers unto the Nephites soon after He was ressurrected. The very last prophet in the Book of Mormon, Moroni, in the very last chapter, writes how we can know that this record is true scripture. If we read it, ponder its message, and pray about its truthfulness with real intent, the Lord will make it known unto us by the power of the Holy Ghost. I know this promise to be true. I know the Book of Mormon is true. Show more Show less
