Hi I'm Tanner

I love to run and share the gospel. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in a small community in Idaho. I grew up in an LDS family consisting of two older brothers and two older sisters and awesome parents. Growing up we really loved to have fun, and most of the time as a youth I was involved with sports. The practice, dedication, working with others to achieve a goal, and the love to be active have really shaped who I am. What I like about being raised in a small town is you know everyone and there are a lot of people who "have your back" and really care about you and want to help you succeed in life. Everyone is family.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that I made a covenant with God. I was blessed to be able to baptized a member of the Church when I was eight years old by my father. At the time I can still remember both of my sisters giving talks on what it meant to be baptized and become members of the church. Although I can't remember the exact things they said, I can still remember the spirit I felt and the way that I knew that I was making the right decision. After my baptism, I tried to stay focused on continuing on that path, but as it seems with some youth, I really began to take for granted the many blessings that the church offers. I relied on others' testimonies for a long time. With time I wasn't too sure if I knew the things I was learning were true. I was also blessed at the time to have three siblings on a mission at one time, and the experiences and testimony that they shared during this time were great faith-builders for me. With time, I began to give it more serious thought, and really began putting more time and effort into it. I began reading the Book of Mormon and praying more constantly and sincerely. I changed the music I listened too, I tried to focus on more positive uplifting things and slowly but surely I saw the hand of God in my life preparing me to receive a more powerful witness that this church is true. I know that Jesus is the Christ and that through His Atonement we can become clean of any mistakes we have made.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by sharing what I've experience with those around me. Everyday I wake up knowing that there will be miracles happen that day. I know that is true because being an "example of the believers" allows me to have the spirit with me and to show others how to recognize that spirit. I love seeing how a person reacts to hearing divine truth and understanding it, and when they can feel that love from God in their life. It is inspiring and uplifting, and its something I strive to do everyday. Seeing changed hearts, including my own, is more of a miracle than anything else I could possibly think of.
