Hi I'm JeanMarie

I'm a math major. I'm the only girl in a family of all boys. I speak German. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is JeanMarie. That's "J-E-A-N-capital M-A-R-I-E. No space, all one word." I grew up as the only girl in a household of three brothers, so I have learned to hold my own. I am currently studying Math at Brigham Young University. I love Math, but I also love German. I have taken German since Elementary School and have had the opportunity to visit Germany twice. I also love reading, music, and watching the TV show Gilmore Girls obsessively over and over.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in an LDS home, with parents whose strong faith influenced me from an early age. But having a family who believes isn't enough, is it? As I grew older, it came down to my choice. I had to choose to believe. As I look back on my life, I realize that everything good comes from my belief in the gospel. I know that God loves me and that He wants me to be happy. I know that Jesus Christ died on the cross for my sins. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that He translated the Book of Mormon so that we could benefit from it.

How I live my faith

I choose to follow the commandments and participate in my church because I know from experience that living that way will make me happy. When I was in high school, I went to early morning scripture study everyday before school. Whenever I told someone that, they would look at me funny and say "You do what?!? At what time?!?" But to me, it wasn't weird. It was just part of who I am. My faith is a part of me, so making choices in my life to follow it are just second nature. It gives me joy.
