Hi I'm Soren

I'm a happy guy. I like helping others be happy. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love working on the water e.g. sailing, teaching people to fish and then cleaning the fish they caught, answering questions about passing scenery, and the like. I'm a college student and an aspiring actor. There's something magical about being a part of a show. Ah... love it. I like being in the process of reading a book, which might be why I haven't finished reading most of the books in my library. I like to play music. I'm a fan of being around fun people. Food is also a favorite of mine, especially ones from different cultures. I love my beautiful wife, and we are living one of our dreams in China.

Why I am a Mormon

All of my life I have always had to do things my own way. When I learned how to play a song in my piano lessons I would change it because I wanted the song to sound this way or that way. When I studied algebra and other areas of mathematics I would find the answer in different ways than were asked of me. I could only do things my way and when I was younger I was not very willing to follow the way of the Lord. When I was almost eight years old I didn’t want to get baptized. When I was old enough to become a Deacon and a holder of the Aaronic priesthood I didn’t want to receive the priesthood. I didn’t want the responsibility that came with having that authority. I told my Mom that I never wanted to serve a mission. My mother shed many bitter tears because of my unwillingness to listen to the voice of the Lord. But my stiff neckedness has been softened, and my stubborn inclination has changed. Thanks to the example of cousins, my parents and my own prayers and study -I have changed my attitude. And I wasn’t brainwashed or anything like that. It wasn’t because of peer pressure or any sort of flock mentality. It was because I found out the truth for myself, and in my own way. It was because I let the master craftsman mold me into what I need to be. It was because I became meek and submissive. It was because the Lord can work mighty miracles. I'm a Mormon becasue I've recieved answers from God. I asked plenty of questions and had plenty of doubts. So along with putting faith into action and going forward without all the answers, I also have a supply of spiritual experiences that motivate me to be a better person. I'm a Mormon becasue I received an answer that The Book of Mormon really is the words of Real prophets who recorded what God told them to do and say, in the same way that the Bible is really the words of Real Prephets. I know that Jesus is the Christ and that he lived, suffered and died in jerusalem and that he ministered in the americas as well. That's why.

How I live my faith

I try to be a good exaple to those around me. Sometimes I don't do such a great job at it, but I keep trying. That's what the Gospel of Jesus Christ is all about; trying to be better each day, learning from mistakes and moving forward. Currently I'm living my faith by teaching the a sunday school class in my congregation. I Love it! I love leading discussions about Church history. I learn more and more about the Gospel every week from my dear brothers and sisters.
