Hi I'm Don

I grew up in the South in a part member family. I love weight lifting, motorcycles, ice cream and family and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of four beautiful children and a grandfather also of four adorable grandchildren. I grew up in a part member family (my dad was not a member of the Mormon faith) in the south, It was somewhat of a challenge growing up in the south because there were not many members of my faith in my High School. I was baptized when I was 8 years old, however I was converted when I was 19. I served a mission for the Church in Anaheim California and that proved to be one of the single greatest experiences of my life. It laid the foundation of faith and service that would be needed in later years. I worked for UPS for 14 years and at the same time served a a lay minister for my Church for over 5 years. I had a very supportive, loving wife who bore much of the burden of raising our four children. I was rescued from the corporate world in 1998 when my father offered me the opportunity to move my family from Florida to Georgia and work in a business that he had started several years prior. Since that time I have lived in Georgia with all of my children and grandchildren. Our business was blessed to evolve today into what is a very busy, thriving, digital print shop surrounded by my family. Our business truly has been blessed and I acknowledge the Lords hand in all that I do. My family is my life and my ultimate goal is to spend more time with them and also to be in a position financially to serve the Lord in whatever capacity He would have me to serve.

Why I am a Mormon

Well first of all I can tell you with all the soberness of my heart that I am not a Mormon simply because I was raised in the Mormon faith. I can not always say that I lived my faith the way I should and I can say with certainty that there were many doubts about exactly who I was, who God and Jesus were, and was the faith that I was taught in my youth indeed what it was purported to be, The gospel of Jesus Christ restored to the earth through a living prophet. I had a very personal experience when I was 19 that changed the course of my life. At the time I was working full time, enjoying dating, college, cars and my social life. I had been encouraged all of my life to serve a mission for my Church but quite truthfully that was the furthest thing form my mind. I was a very tough, hardened, worldly young man. My Bishop had just interviewed me and I let him know it was not my intention or desire to serve a mission. While in the chapel just after the interview I had a miracle happen that proved to change the course of my life. It was a very sacred experience and an encounter with my Heavenly Father that had a profound influence on me. I come to know that he actually knew who I was and that His plan for me was far greater than I ever could have ever imagined. I did decide that instant that I would serve a mission. There were many other changes take place that moment for which there is no explanation of how this could happen ,except thorough divine intervention. My desires, my attitude, my actions, my language, everything about me changed "in the twinkling of an eye". God is still a God of miracles and of that I stand as a witness! Christ has the power to change one's heart and to save us from destruction and of that I am also a witness.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith each day in all that I do. I mentioned that I served as a lay minister Bishop for over 5 years. In our church you are asked to serve and called by inspiration by those who lead the local areas. I did not ask to be a Bishop and even though the calling blessed me and my family in countless ways I would never seek that office again. A couple of years ago I was called in by my Bishop and asked to serve as the Scoutmaster. Again a calling that I did not seek, and in fact one I really did not want . I asked the Bishop if he was sure this calling was from the Lord and he assured me it was, so I served and did the best I could to teach the principles of scouting & to bless the lives of the young men. This was a very difficult calling for me, but I accepted it as from the Lord. I do not like to camp and had absolutely no desire to learn knots, camping skills, wear a scout uniform, or anything else that goes along with scouts. Again, I excepted the calling and I served because that is how I live my faith. Over the years I have done many things I have been asked to do because I believe and know that the Lord is at the helm and I will be blessed as I do whatever he asks me to do. I try to live my faith in all that I do. I run a business with as much integrity as I possibly can. I am fair with my customers and do not take advantage of them when there are certainly times that I could. I am honest with all those that I associate with, even though that honesty is hard at times, especially when you make a mistake and it would be very easy to cover it up and only you would know. I do all that I can to bless the lives of others and to help those who are in need. We are surrounded in a world of people who need to feel the love of Jesus Christ and God, and throughout my life I have tried to be the hands and feet of those whom I love so much. My life has not been easy but that is OK, I am filled with peace because I know, love and adore "The Prince of Peace"!
