Hi I'm Jon

I am a father of 5 very active boys. Husband to a beautiful lady. Active sports enthusiast and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up on a cattle ranch in a small town in Utah. Decided ranching was too hard, so I got a degree in Computers. Now I live in a big city in Georgia and work in a air-conditioned office. It is a long way from my roots. I miss the slower pace of ranch life sometimes but love all the city has to offer. I enjoy almost all sports with my passion being wake boarding and boating. Nothing like making the first wake as the sun is coming up on a misty lake. When not working, I tag team with my beautiful wife against five very active, socially and physically, sons.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Gospel and served a mission in Texas. It doesn't matter if you are raised with the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or you learn about them later in life. There comes a time when you need to know for yourself if the teaching are true. When that time came for me, I studied and prayed to know. The peace that came to me was like no other. God sent his Holy Spirit to someone like me. I felt and feel his love. The teachings answer all my questions - like; where did I come from, why am I here, who I am as it relates to God and where am I going after this life. This knowledge gives me direction in how I live my life. Gives me a greater purpose than day to day life. It brings me PEACE!

How I live my faith

Living my faith is more than just Sunday worship. I try to do what Jesus would do every day (sometimes I don't do a very good job). I teach the young men in our local congregation. That includes class on Sundays and youth activities during the week. I am an assistant Scout Master and go with the young men camping each month. Each month I visit a couple of families to make sure their needs are met. Sometimes I am lucky enough to be able to help them - like cutting down dead trees :)
