Hi I'm Robert Luster

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. I play the contrabass with the Chandler Symphony Orchestra. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm husband to a lovely and caring wife and father of two wonderful children. I enjoy playing music and family vacations activities.

Why I am a Mormon

While living in a small coastal town in my youth, I often enjoyed flying kites in an open field just across from my childhood home. One day, I was having trouble with my kite catching the wind, when two young men on bikes stopped and offered to help. One of them took the kite and started to run across the field. I clearly remember to this day the enormous effort he exerted as he continued to run up and down the long field. After several attempts, the kite took flight. I was so excited to see my kite up in the air and thanked him as he handed me the kite. They asked me if they could share a message with my family, so I invited them to my home. I didn’t normally invite strangers to my home, but I felt that something was different about them. At the time my family was being torn apart by the separation of my parents. My mother was home and she invited them in to share their message. They presented them self’s as missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Their message brought hope and love into our home, a piece that was missing from our lives. The missionaries continued to visit us and Mother and I eventually decided to become members of the Church and be baptized. I’m so grateful that two young missionaries decided to stop and help one young boy. It has changed my life forever.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others and the Church. Service is a large part of how I can express my love for Jesus Christ. I have the wonderful opportunity of teaching the gospel to youth and adults and I’m given many wonderful opportunities to serve others in my community.
