Hi I'm Doug

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to play competitive racquetball when I have time. Since I was in High School, I have owned a jeep, longer than I'd like to say. I am happily married for the last 25 years to a strong successful woman. I have taught Mediation, computer courses and of course insurance classes for the last 30 years.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was only 14, my family moved to California, just north of San Fransico. Didn't know a soul, but quickly made friends, as I love to sing. A couple of choirs later, I met Merle, a 14 year old red headed girl. Merle was LDS and deeply involved with Road show and Dance Festival and asked me if I wanted to participate. She didn't have to ask me twice. So for 14 months, I danced and sang together with a great bunch of LDS kids. Then bam, my folks and I moved back to Colorado. Time passed and after many years, there was a knock at the door. Two female missionaries were following up on a visitors card I'd filled out in the Salt Lake Visitor center, some 2 years before.

How I live my faith

I am blessed with many opportunities to be of service. I teach the young men and young woman in the Lakewood Stake through the Stake Youth Committee, about leadership and organization. Although I'm a member of the Lakewood Ward, I serve in the Dartmouth Ward, as the Stake Liaasson. I have grown to love Bishop Last and his Bishopric, along with all the members of the Ward, by singing in the choir and attending all their social activities. I don't smoke or drink and keep the Sabbath (Sunday) holy, by not shopping and focusing on the lord.
