Hi I'm David

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Utah. I have been a Mormon all my life. My wife and I have10 children. We have 31 grandchildren.

About Me

My wife and I live in a condo in American Fork, Ut. We enjoy our mature years. We see our children and grandchildren from time to time. I am a retired teacher in the LDS Church Educational System. I have taught youth and youn single adults for over 50 years. It has been a great life. Although I was born a member of the Mormon Church, my parents were less active and it was up to me to determine whether to embrace the church or turn from it. I enlisted myself in a concerted effort to find whether the claims made by the church were true or false.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a junior in high school I was reading from the Bible in John 7:17, which states: 'If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether I speak of God, or whether I spek of myself.' also found in the next chapter are these words: 'Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, if ye continue in my word, then ye are my disciples iindeed; and ye shall know the truth , and the truth shall make you free.' After reading those verses, I decided I had to make a commitment to live according to the teachings of Jesus. The more I studied, the more I came to believe that the Mormon Church had the full truth of what I had been looking for. The church is built on the restored church of Jesus Christ. It is patterened after the New Testament church He created when he lived upon the earth. I came to this conclusion after studying the scriptures well and then asking God in fervent prayer if what I had read was true. I am now settled and secure in my knowledge.

How I live my faith

King Benjamin of the Book of Mormon states: 'but men drink damnation to their souls except they humble themselves and become as little children, and believe that salvation was, is, and is to come, in and through the blood of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent. For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord and becometh as a child, submissive, meek, humble, paitient, full of love willing to subomit to all things which the lord seeth to inflict upon him, even as a child doth submit to ohis father...For when ye are in the service of your fellow beings, ye are only in the service of your God. 1. I served a 30 month mission when I reached the aage of 20. 2. I have paid a full tithing (1/10th) of my income annually for as long as I understood the law 3. We have daily scripture reading 4. We have twice daily prayers 5. We give a liberal fast offering once each month 6. My wife and I have served three missions for the church at our own expense. 7. We participate each week in a humanitarian project to benefit those in need worldwide 8. We donate to the perpetual education fund administered for those in 3rd world countries who have need for technical training towards a job to support their family 9. We do family history research then attend the temple and complete ordinance work for those who had no opportunity to hear the gospel in their lifetime. 10. We regularly visit neighbors to determine what needs we can help with through a home teaching and visiting teaching program. 11. Se look for opportunities to serve in the community and schools.
