Hi I'm Elder Cesar McQueen

I'm a Kiwi and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from New Zealand. I am a missionary serving in the Massachusetts Boston Mission. My current area is Farmington, Connecticut. I love it here. I love sharing the gospel with people and seeing their lives change as a result of having greater faith in Christ. I love sports, i surf and play basketball. I love all kinds of music. I love traveling and have been to 9 countries including Australia, Tonga, Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, the United States, the Netherlands, Germany, and France. I love to travel the world. I love Stargazing, swimming in the ocean and in rivers. I don't know what i want to do after my mission... definitely go to university, but what to study and where? i haven't decided.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and am thankful for that. I love the church because I know that it is true. I have a testimony of the book of mormon and love reading it. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God, I have received my own witness. He was an amazing man and 'has done more for the salvation of mankind, save Jesus Christ, than any man that has ever lived on the earth. He died as a martyr and sealed his testimony with his life. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for the sins of the world. I have felt his mercy and love in my life. 'I believe in Christ'. I know that it is through Him and only Him, that we can have everlasting life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by always working as hard as I can to do what is right. At the moment I am devoting 2 years of my life to sharing the gospel with others. I want others to feel the joy and hope that i get from knowing the truthfulness of the gospel. I always do my best to "be an example of the believers" in all i think, say, and do. I study the scriptures every morning which helps me to stay focused, to learn more about what i teach everyday, and to strengthen my testimony of my Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Elder Cesar McQueen
The Book of Mormon was written by ancient prophets. It is another testament of Jesus Christ. It starts in Jerusalem with a prophet called Lehi, and his family. They were commanded to leave Jerusalem. This was around 600 B.C. God lead them to America where they became a great civilization. Lehi's son, Nephi, kept a record of their travels to America, including their trials, blessings and dealings with God. He only wrote what God wanted him to write, He wrote things that would help his family. He continued to keep this record after they arrived in America. After several hundred years all the prophets that God had called had kept records aswell. The Book of Mormon is a collection of these records. One of the last of these prophets, named Mormon, compiled all the records. This is where the book of mormon gets its name. All the prophets testified of Jesus Christ and wrote about their ministries. I know that the book of mormon is true. Show more Show less

What is faith?

Elder Cesar McQueen
To have faith is to “hope for things which are not seen, which are true” see Book of Mormon, Alma 3221. Faith in God is more than a theoretical belief in Him. To have faith in God is to trust Him, to have confidence in Him, and to be willing to act on your belief in Him. It is a principle of action and power. The Book of Mormon prophet Alma compared faith to a seed. If you plant a seed and nourish it, if it is a good seed it will grow and eventually bear fruit Alma 32 28-43. It is the same with faith. If you are obedient to God’s commandments, study His word, and have a desire to believe in Christ, faith will grow inside of you. Faith first comes from a desire to believe. Alma 32 27.
