Hi I'm BJ

I'm a college student, newly wed, and learning new skills like sewing and cooking. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a recently married college student who is studying Physics. I was born and raised in Roseville, CA and the youngest of 4 kids. I became an aunt at the ripe age of 13 and I love all of my silly nephews. I met my husband when I was only 19 and started dating him a year later. I never thought I would get married at 20, but it was the right decision for me. I like sports, especially college football. I love spending lots of time with my husband and family. During my high school years, I spent a lot of time in band and learning to play new instruments like saxophone, trombone, trumpet, and baritone. Lately, I've been developing more talents like sewing, cooking, decorating, and organizing. These are things I never thought I was good at when I was growing up. It's great to know that we are able to change weaknesses into strengths.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it makes me a better person. I am a daughter of God and He loves me even though I am imperfect. He sees my potential and is there to help me grow and become more like Him. I was raised as a member of this Church and at different points of my life have had to make important decisions. One of them was to gain a personal knowledge of whether this is the true church of Christ. I realized that I already knew the answer. I know that this is Christ's Church. I know that the spirit teaches me as I read the scriptures. I know the Book of Mormon is scripture and Christ visited the people living in the Americas. I know that this is where my Heavenly Father wants me to be.

How I live my faith

I currently am a Sunday School teacher. I prepare lessons for the 12 and 13 year-olds. We are studying the Plan of Salvation and how it can help us as we face challenges in our everyday lives. I also went to Girls Camp last summer as a leader. It gives the girls an opportunity to enjoy our Heavenly Father's creations without the distractions of everyday life.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

We believe that families can be together forever. A husband and wife can be sealed together in the temple and as part of that blessing, their children are sealed to them. It is through the same sealing power that the prophets of old had. The key to being with your family is following Christ and staying worthy of the sealing. Show more Show less
