Hi I'm Tanner

I'm a day dreamer, an optimist and football player. Im a follower of Jesus Christ and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 and have been a member of the church since birth. I am currently serving an LDS mission in Nebraska I love contact sports such as football, rugby, wrestling. I have a wonderful family of 7 (me included). I love the outdoors such as doing challenging hikes, intense tubing on the lake, playing a pickup game of Basketball (I have a mean jumper haha). In a nutshell love all of the simple things in life. Before I left on my mission I went to Dixie State College by St. George Utah. There I attended the fall semester as a freshman and played football.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have been raised as a member by my wonderful parents which is important but more importantly because I have read the Book of Mormon, prayed about it and gained a testimony of its words for myself. I know it is absolutely true and it goes hand in hand with the Bible and testifies of the saving power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the Restoration of His true church on this earth through Joseph Smith.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading the scriptures and applying the principles I learn from them to my own life. By putting my Father in Heaven first in my life everything else seems to fall into place. I know that as I trust my Heavenly Father and have faith in Him he can do all things and make my weaknesses my strengths. (Ether 12:27)

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

During the Saviors mortal ministry here on earth or Father in heaven endowed Jesus with great power to work miracles among men which included healing the sick, blind, crippled and much more. By the laying on of hands Jesus's 12 devout followers known as the 12 apostles received this power from God through Jesus. Jesus blessed the apostles with this gift known as the priesthood or the power to act in God's name. After the Atonement of Jesus and the deaths of the apostles this power was gone from the earth. It was essential to continue God's work here on earth and without it men were lost. This power needed to be restored back to the earth in order for God's work to continue. Many churches were established over time and had the Bible but did not however have the priesthood. Show more Show less
