Hi I'm Kayla

I'm a wife, mother, daughter, sister and auntie. I enjoy all the hats I wear to accomplish my never ending to do list!

About Me

After taking the more conventional LDS steps to a life several years ago... I decided the life I had built was not for me. I divorced my unfaithful husband and very quickly met my now husband. He is not an active member and I strayed away from the church to decide who I was and what I wanted. Turns out... I'm pretty awesome! We had our daughter and about 8 months later were married. I feel like the many choices I have made in my life whether right or wrong, spiritual or purely worldly has led me to this amazing life that I have now. I don't have it all... my husband and I both work full time and he goes to school as well. We are in our 30's and just now purchasing our first home together, we have to send our daughter to daycare (gasp) and we are in no way wealthy... but our life is perfect for us. When I kneel down to pray with my daughter at night and she opens her prayer, "Dear Heavenly Father... Jesus loves me" (LOL) I can only smile and think... well... at least she knows that much! I recently returned to the temple and can not put into words how amazing I felt when entering that sacred piece of heaven! Knowing I have a place to escape the world and physically feel closer to my Father in Heaven. The older I get the more I understand and cherish the Atonement. I use it daily and am grateful for my Savior and all that he did to allow me to live with my Father in Heaven again. There is no purer love...

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Gospel but tend to always learn things the hard way; therefore, I began my conversion process in my late teens. I rely heavily on Faith. My relationship with my Heavenly Father is one that I cherish. He has guided me by the Spirit throughout my whole life. I know that my Father lives. I know that this is the one and only true church and I'm so grateful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!

How I live my faith

I never try to be someone that I'm not... I am who I am. I struggle, I make mistakes, I curse like a sailor and I also fall to my knees and weep during prayer. I love to attend my weekly meetings and take the sacrament with my eager to learn daughter by my side. The older I get the easier it has been to understand how living my faith is much more than attending weekly church meetings and reading my scriptures. It's also being an example to those I come into contact with, my husband, daughter, friends. Keeping an open mind and humbled heart when dealing with others.
