Hi I'm Jeff Spear

Not sure who exactly I am. I do everything from from outdoor recreation and sports to video games. But I embrace being a Mormon.

About Me

Currently I am studying to go into the medical field. I have always been fascinated with the science of life. It often seems that I'm a duel personality kind of a person because I enjoy social crowds and events like rock concerts, pool parties, and pick up football. But I also enjoy taking the night and reading or watching a movie by myself. But one thing I am decisive about is being a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was first introduced to the faith by my parents. Being born and brought up in the faith gave me an interesting perspective on it. And like most kids that grew up in the faith will tell you why they're a Mormon, they will say because a time came to choose for themselves and they choose Mormonism. And that is true for me as well. The fact of the matter came down to a personal relationship with God first. Have you developed that personal relationship that no religion or faith can give? Second, did Joseph Smith experienced what he said he experienced? If that is true, the whole credibility, history, and mission of the Mormon faith is true. If it is not, then everything we stand for as Mormons was born out of a lie and holds no credibility. I was not blind to see the simple logic in this motive and with this in mind I went to the source of all truth to find out for myself. I was not only enlightened spiritually, but mentally as well. Not only could I feel the truth, I could also reason it as well. With that being confirmed I have to embrace all the Mormonism is and will be knowing full well that it is God's will and my choice.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in two ways. Developing a relationship with God and Jesus and then developing a relationship with those whom I associate with. Serving God and serving man in anyway, shape, or form for is what is required of us as Christians and what will give us the best satisfaction and happiness.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Jeff Spear
Today in our Sunday service while the speaker was preaching to us about revelation, she shared an insight that I think will help answer this question. She said that the scriptures are not the greatest source of knowledge, but proceeds the greatest source of knowledge. Just like we cannot conjure up spiritual knowledge from reading the scriptures, we cannot increase our faith in Jesus Christ in like manner. Receiving knowledge from the scriptures requires preparation, prayer, pondering, and diligence. Study likewise will allow God to influence you with his Holy Spirit to bring the scriptures to your up-most understanding and receive knowledge through personal revelation. The same goes for increasing your faith in Jesus Christ. It requires preparation obedience to his commandments in living standards, prayer humble communication and relationship development through divine prayer, Pondering consistent reflection on Jesus's mission and purpose and diligence choosing to do what's right with integrity and meekness. Increasing faith is a principle of action that through consistent efforts will literally drive out doubt, fear, and despair in regards to anything and will again literally strengthen the trust between Jesus and the individual, endowing that person with power to do many things Obeying more perfectly his commandments, strengthening those who are in despair, take a step into the vast unknown of the future, heal the sick with prayer and fasting and so on.
