Hi I'm Robert

I am from Wisconsin, am serving a full-time mission in Massachusetts, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a full-time mission for the church. I am speaking Haitian Creole! I have been through one year of college. I plan on being a History Education Major beacuse I love history and I want to be able to share that love if it with others. I have a deep passion for musical theater. I am usually involved in one show at any given time of the year. When I am not studying or being involved in theater, I usually read. Some of my favorite books include The Killer Angels, Dune, Harry Potter, and of course The Book of Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it has been such a huge influence on my life since the day I was born. I nearly died at birth when I was strangled with my own umbilical cord. My heart rate dropped and my parents feared the worst. So they said a prayer to heavenly father so that I might live. I lived but I was born with a neurological problem that gave me low muscle tone. I could not walk until I was three years old. Even a simple thing, like using the muscles in my hands, was a difficult task for me in elementary school. . I underwent many physical and occupational therapy sessions during childhood in order to build up my muscle tone. Even today I still have problems with balancing and my handwriting is still very bad. But all of these adversities have made my testimony of the gospel stronger. I know that this church has the power to change lives, and I hope that one day, everyone can feel the same joy that I have felt in my life.

How I live my faith

I have a goal to read the book of Mormon every day. I usually read about two to three chapters in each sitting. I try to be a good influence to both my family, but also to my non-member friends. In the church I hold the office of a Elder. I am currently serving mission in the church. I used to be the Choir director for our congregation. I was also a home teacher. Once every month my home-teaching companion and I would go visit two families. We check up on how they are doing and offer any assistance that they might require. We then leave the family with a spiritual message from the scriptures. I do my best every day to live up to the commandments of the Lord. If I make a mistake like all humans do, I know that I can repent of my sins, and that I will be forgiven.
