Hi I'm Jim and I'm a Mormon

I'm a Mormon who loves and worships Christ, loves to spend time with my family, play sports, and learn new things.

About Me

My family is everything to me. My wife and I have been married for 25 years and have two wonderful girls ages 12 and 21. Our 21 year old is about to leave for 18 months to serve a mission for our church. We are very excited about this. As a medical sales representative, my work takes me from home quite often and I miss them everytime I leave, however the Lord has blessed us with a good job to provide for my family. We have been blessed that my wife has been able to stay at home with the kids since our 1st baby was born. We have experienced many wonderful blessing from our Father in Heaven and have also been blessed with trials and tribulations. While we hoped to have a larger family than we do, we have been blessed with these two noble girls. Though time often precludes me from playing, I love to play basketball and other sports whenever I can. I have a great love for our country and appreciate the men and women who serve in our miliatry. I pray for the leaders of our country that they will work together for what is right for this coutnry and work to preserve the God given rights that He has given us.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? I am a Mormon because I have been blest with a wonderful heritage. This heritage started my testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ, however the Lord has blessed me with experiences and oppotunities which has caused my testimony of Christ to grow. I had the opportunity of serving a mission for the LDS church which also caused my testimony to grow. How grateful I am for the Atonement of Christ. I believe he not only died for us, but he also suffered for each of our sins, struggles, and trials. We will not experience anything in this life that he did not experience during the atonement process. As such, we may find peace in our lives and joy in our hearts by turning our hearts and minds over to the Savior. Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He established his church 2000 years ago and due to the apostacy his church was removed from the earth, but do the mercy of Christ and our Father in Heaven, his church has been restored back to the earth. We are blest with prophets and apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ. Christ is the cornerstone of this church. He reveals his will to the earth through prophets and apostles. What is most important to me is the prieshood power. This priesthood is the power and AUTHORITY to act in Gods name. With this priesthood, my family has been sealed as a family unit for time and all eternity, which means at death we will not be seperated. We will be together forever.

How I live my faith

This church is a laymans church which means we do not have a paid minsitry. I have been blest to serve in this church in various positions. These positions have allowed me to serve various people of differnt ages. Just recently we had the opportunity to take several of our teenagers out on the plains of Wyoming and pull handcarts across the plains. Here they learned who they are as Sons and Daughters of God, how to become leaders, and gained a better understanding on how to include Christ into their lives. In our church we also believe we should take on the burdens of our fellowman. As such we have positions called home teachers and visiting teachers. As men who hold the priesthood of God, we are assigned families to watch over, nurture and sustain. At least once a month I visit assigned families in the church to see how they are doing spiritually as well as temporally. The women of the chuirch also have a similar charge only they visit with Sisters of the church. It is my testimony that the more we serve God and our fellow men the more we get back in blessings. I testify that this church is lead by God. While the people in the church are not perfect the gosple plan is perfect. I testify of Christ's love for each of us individually. It doesn't matter who we are or what we have done in the past God loves us. We are his children and he knows us by name.
