Hi I'm Seth

I am the son of a US navy captain and have lived in many parts of the US. I currently live in Montana. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I spent my first two years of life in New York state. After those two years we moved over a dozen times. My mom choose to home school me and my sister. It was well that she did with all the moving that our family went through. I went to one year of public school. That was my freshman year of high school. I did okay. I choose to get my G.E.D. I received it with honors. When I was young my mom counseled me to learn a trade. I found a trade that I liked and that had the ability to be useful in supporting my family when I got married. That Trade was welding. I went to a one year welding course to learn about welding. I graduated with honors. Two months after I graduated I was hired for a welding job. I learned much from this job and the people I worked with. I love learning, music, shot gun shooting, reading, traveling, leather working, playing the cello, playing Scrabble with my grandmother, and doing the best I can to live life to its fullest. I am an Eagle Scout. My eagle project was restoring and improving a local camp ground run by the state. I also have earned The Duty to God award that young men of the church are encouraged to earn. I am currently waiting for my mission call.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was younger I did not fully appreciate my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Now that I am older and have been through some steep life challenges I appreciate my membership in the church very much. There is a God, Heavenly Father, who loves us. Everyone that is on this earth is is a child of His. Jesus Christ is His Son. Jesus Christ ,did what we could not do for ourselves, Atoned for our sins that we might have the chance to return to live in Heavenly Father's presence as we once did. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and is the prophet that God used to fully restore His church on earth as it was had at the time of Jesus. The Book of Mormon is a volume of scripture comparable to the Bible. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is led by prophets of God. The Church of Jesus Christ is the only true and living church of God on earth. What keeps me coming back? Is the fact that I have come to know by my own experience that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's kingdom on earth.

How I live my faith

I am a ward missionary and the assistant 11 year old scout master. Every Wednesday I go to church to work with the 11 year old scouts. My dad is the 11 year old scout master. I love working with the scouts. Since I am a ward missionary I go to church every Thursday to do splits with the missionaries. Also as a ward missionary I participate in a gospel principles class every Sunday. This class is primarily held for the benefit of those investigating the church. Yet I must confess I learn something every time I go. I home teach three families. One of them lives two blocks away from me, the other lives in town and the other lives out in the country . I usually visit the family that lives a few blocks away from me on Thursday nights after I've done splits with the missionaries. The family that lives in town I usually visit on the week ends. The family that lives out in the country I visit whenever their schedule allows. Sometimes I manage to visit all of them in a month and sometimes I don't. But I love them all.

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

Seth
We believe that selfless service is what brings happiness. Leaders in the church are not paid and therefore are selflessly serving and reaping the benefits of that service. Show more Show less
