Hi I'm Gale

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in the United States and have lived in Utah, Colorado and Germany. I work as a Mechanical Engineer.

About Me

Hi, I am a father and grandfather who has been blessed to be an Engineer in the high tech industry since 1985, designing hard drives and other fun things. I have 6 children I love very much, a wonderful wife who I love even more and 3 sweet and fun grandchildren. Sounds like "it's a wonderful life" which it is. By the way, I have never seen the movie "it's a Wonderful life" from start to finish, only bits and pieces but I hear it is a great movie. I grew up in Southern Utah roaming the desert and playing with lizards and snakes on the sand stone red hills and gold fish in the local city ponds. I grew up working on a farm with my family and learned to operate and work on all kinds of heavy equipment, drive all kinds of vehicles and motor cycles and get really dirty. My High School years were fun and filled with football, cross country running, visits to the local lake to water ski and riding dirt bikes with my friends. I met my future wife in high school and dated her until I left to serve a 2 year mission in Germany which I loved. I married my High School sweetheart soon after returning from my mission and we focused on going to school for the next 7 years and having a family. I finally graduated with 3 degrees (German, Biology, Mechanical Engineering) I like to do many different things. I love to water ski, wakeboard, ride dirt bikes, play basket ball, ride bikes, do triathlons and do all of the above with my family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have learned through many experiences and living the principles of the gospel that the church is truly lead by Jesus Christ through his living Prophet and Apostles who lead his church. I grew up in the church and most of my friends and family were also members. We lived in a small town filled with church members and the culture of the town was very much linked to the church. It was a great place to grow up but I had very little opportunity to see other religions or meet people who were not Mormons when I was young. As I got into High School I met a few more people who were not Mormons and learned a little more about other churches. None seemed to have anything that would be better than what I already had in fact they seemed to have fewer good answers but I could not say I knew what the true church was. As I got closer to 18 years old I was not comfortable with the idea of being a missionary which was the traditional age to start planning for a mission. I was not willing to serve a mission without knowing the church was truly Christs church so I started to look into what I should do to find out. With the help of my girl friend, we decided to read the Book of Mormon. I started to read more of the church history and pray for an answer. As I put in the work to find out I was blessed with the knowledge that this was Christs church and I should serve a mission. As I served a missionary, I was blessed with many more witnesses that I was doing the right thing and was representing Christs true church. As I continued to served in the church over many year again and again I have seen the hand of God in my life and my family's. I have received many witnesses that God is mindful of my life and the this is his true church.

How I live my faith

Living my faith is what I try to do each day with my family my co workers and others I meet. In my free time I am involved as a church leader in the Loveland and Ft Collins area. In this role I help plan and organize teaching opportunities and activities for the adults, youth and children in the area. In the past few years we have organized high adventure activities where the youth camp in the mountains, participate in high ropes course activities and Trek across Wyoming with hand carts. We have also organized community service activities to assist the needy and the community in general where all ages have participated in serving others. I find it very rewarding to serve in the church and in the community and know that service to others will bring joy to my life.
