Hi I'm Bryan

I am a college student. I love riding road bikes and playing my saxophone. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a second year college student who just finished serving as a full time missionary for the Mormon church. I am pretty well rounded in my hobbies but lately I have taken a huge interest in riding road bikes. I have struggles and trials just like everyone else but I know that anything is possible if I just keep going with faith in God and Christ. Living the gospel takes effort but is always worth it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church and raised in a good family that taught me the correct principles of the Gospel. I guess you could say that being a member of the church was just part of the normal family tradition for me. My grandparents on my Dad's side are members of the church, both of my parents are members of the church. All of that may be true but I believe that every person has to figure everything out what life is really about on their own. I credit a lot of who I am to the teachings I received as a child. I am very grateful for the religious background in which I was raised. However like I said, everyone in this life is required to make their own decisions, who they want to be or what they want to do, or what they want to believe in. I served a mission because it was the next step in the Mormon tradition, but in that time I learned not only who I am, but really who the Lord is. I gave Him 2 whole years of my life and He took that time to teach me a little bit of who He is and really how much He loves his children. I am a Mormon now because I know exactly what it is that Heavenly Father wants for me and I want to do what He wants. Forget the traditions or the family influence now. I choose to obey because I know it's true and I believe in it.

How I live my faith

Well, I just got back home from Guatemala where I served my mission a couple of weeks ago. At the moment I haven't been given an actual assignment in the church but I try to live my faith in a way that others might be able to see that I choose to live differently. As it's said in Matthew my goal is to let my light shine that others may see and glorify my Father who is in heaven. That means I have to make certain choices. Simple ones but still critical. I choose not to use certain words in my daily vocabulary, I choose not to take certain things into my body, and I choose to act as Jesus would act when around others. Keep in mind that I am still far from perfect, but I know that these are the things that will help me to be a better person and also maybe help other people along their way to find happiness and peace in life.
