Hi I'm Casey

I grew up in South Jordan, Utah. I served a mission in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil and just recently graduated. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just recently graduated from college with a degree in psychology, which is something I really enjoyed studying about, as I really enjoy studying about and better understanding people, who they are and what brought them to this stage in life and how they were shaped to be the person they are today. I've always enjoyed working with people, I guess that's why I tend to linger toward jobs where I can work around people. I'm single, and currently trying to figure out what I would be passionate about doing for the rest of my life! I really enjoy just getting outdoors and having fun. Bike riding, tennis, hiking, throwing the frisbee, golf, etc. I also enjoy the piano, although I'm not the most talented.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family who were members of the church, and grew up a member of the church, but there came a time when I had to choose for myself whether or not I had faith, whether or not I had my own personal testimony, whether or not the Book of Mormon was true, and whether or not I would continue to incorporate the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. I had to decide if I was going to live the gospel. For me, there was never really a particular ah-ha moment where I had a vision or it all the sudden came to me, but rather, it was more of a gradual, little bit here, a little bit there, little experiences that have all added up to make up my testimony of my savior Jesus Christ and of the reality of His gospel being restored upon the earth. I’ve had a many experiences with the Holy Ghost where it bore witness to my heart of the truthfulness of different things. I know the Book of Mormon is true through the power and witness of the Holy Ghost, as well as so many other principles and doctrines of the gospel. At this time in my life, it has very little to do with whether others believe or not, I have my own personal testimony and that brings me great joy. I’ve had ups and downs in my life; I’ve made mistakes, but also experienced the healing power of the atonement of my savior Jesus Christ. I've felt the forgiveness which comes only through sincere repentance and supplication. As a result, I know for myself of his infinite love and mercy, and know this to be the only way to true happiness and joy. I can promise, that for anyone who is searching, that if they will experiment, and ask God of its truthfulness, they will find the truth for themselves. They can discover joy beyond what they have ever imagined. And they can feel the pure and everlasting love of a merciful and kind Heavenly Father who desires to have them once again in His presence.

How I live my faith

I work with my church unit, called a ward, in helping organize missionary efforts to further the sharing of the gospel with anyone and everyone! I also aid others in my ward to help them to feel the love and support of those around them if they are struggling in any way, spiritually or physically. My desire and role is to help others, through sharing my testimony of the gospel, to develop their own desire to know more and to come closer to Christ. I also serve in another role as what is called a home teacher. In this responsibility, I am assigned a few individuals in our unit, some guys and some girls who I am to keep an eye on and drop by a couple of times a month to share a spiritual message and check up and make sure they're doing well. It provides a great opportunity to get to know others who I may not otherwise have taken the opportunity to get to know. It provides the opportunity to serve, to love and to inspire and lift. It brings joy into my heart to be able to be a good influence to others and likewise to have those influences in my life from my own home teachers and other ward members. Serving in the church brings great joy, as the gospel teaches when we are in the service of our fellow man, we are only in the service of our God. My belief is an belief that faith is demonstrated through action, and I hope to always live my life in such a way that my faith is demonstrated in such a way.
