Hi I'm Jeff

I own and operate a small pest control business.

About Me

I grew up in Utah, New York, Arizona and California in a somewhat active LDS family. Fortunately, I had support from my family, good friends, and church leaders who helped me along the way. After turning 19, I elected to serve a 2 year mission in Durban, South Africa. I returned home from the mission field and helped teach outgoing missionaries in the Missionary Training Center for 2 years. In September 1998, I met my wife and we were married by the end of the year. A year later, we moved to Texas. We have been married for almost 13 years and have been blessed with 4 boys, ages 10, 8, 5, and 3. I own and operate a small pest control company.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because of answered prayers. When I was 16, I decided to put everything I had been taught at church to the test. I prayed to know if God existed and was filled with a feeling of great happiness and joy. I prayed to know if Jesus Christ was the Savior and felt the same feeling, as well as a feeling that my sins had been forgiven. I read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know if it was a true book. I had such a wonderful feeling of peace and happiness that I knew it truly came from God and was here to help guide me through life. I realized that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God as I shared with others his story in the mission field. As I've continued through life, I have followed this pattern of testing and trying principles that are taught within the church by learning all I could and praying to receive confirmation from the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to be a good husband and father. I am helped in that desire by daily family and personal prayer and scripture study. I also am trying to live up to the promises I've made to Heavenly Father by attending church, and looking for ways to offer service. Currently, I help organize and instruct a group of men within my congregation to become better husbands, fathers and servants of our fellow man. I need a great deal of guidance to do these things, and I've found that relying on Jesus Christ and His example have helped me become a better husband, father and person.
