Hi I'm Kyle Gregg

I'm a college student, whitewater kayaker and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors, whitewater kayaking, slack lining, TED talks, online lecture series, family and friends. I am dedicated to the ideal of truth, I love to learn and I live my life with a spirit of adventure and excitement for what the future holds. I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon for way more reasons than I could list but first and foremost I am Mormon because of the revelations I have received about it’s truthfulness. The first and foundational revelation I received happened when I was about 11 years old. Although I was raised Mormon I had begun to question my belief in God. Why should I believe in something for which I saw no evidence? The oft repeated promise of the prophets that I could find out for myself if the church was true took on new meaning for me. That promise is that if anyone asks God with a sincere heart and true intent he will answer. “Ask and ye shall receive, knock and it shall be opened unto you”. Because of the testimony of friends and family and particularly my father I decided it would be worth asking and determined to do everything God asked to receive an answer. That way, if he answered I could know it was true, and if he didn’t I would know that the promise wasn’t true. I dedicated myself to studying the scripture and to prayer asking “ If you’re there God, and you listen, and you love me I need to know. If you answer I will do my best to live my life in the way you want.” One night, after praying, I received an answer. I felt an overwhelming sense of peace and marvel that made me fall to my knees and a thought and a truth was impressed on my in an indescribable way that I have never been able to deny. This feeling told, or impressed on me three things. One that there is a God, two that he love me, and three that I am a Son of God. Since that day I have lived a constant stream of miracles, revelations and testimony. I know that we are children of God and he loves us. I know that Christ is our Savior and that he has all power to redeem us from our sins and weaknesses. I know that he guides The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints through living prophets and apostles. I know that anyone who asks with a sincere heart and real intent can know for themselves that these things are true.

How I live my faith

The doctrines of the church and specifically the plan of salvation frame my life decisions. They give me purpose in my pursuits and satisfaction in my day to day accomplishments. They comfort me in trials and let me know that I can learn from them. The doctrines of grace, mercy and my personal relationship with God give me hope in my personal future. I live my faith by having faith in other people and being there for them to listen, help, or give counsel.
