Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mother of 5 beautiful children, 4 girls & 1 boy. I'm a mom most of the time, and work 1 day a week as a nurse at the hospital. I love the outdoors, spending time with family, reading, running, gardening, camping, and hiking.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I know that this is the only true church on the earth. That we have the Book of Mormon which testifies of Christ. I know that this book is true and I love reading it and the inspiration and direction that I get from the great leaders and examples that I read about in it's contents. I love the gospel and it's teachings. It is a perfect plan for families and encourages family life and raising children to be hard-working and responsible and independent members of society. We have a living prophet that leads and guides our church today. He is a humble servant of God and he strives to teach us and help us to be better people. I know his teachings are true. I know that this gospel was restored to the earth by the Prophet Joseph Smith back in 1830 and that he saw Heavenly Father & Jesus Christ appear to him in a grove of trees. I know that he translated the Book of Mormon, which is scripture similar to the Bible, that gives a record of the people who inhabited ancient America. I believe in eternal families and that we can be together forever if we make the right choices and follow our Savior's plan here on earth. I love the temple and the ability we have as righteous members of the church to do work for those who are dead and unable to do their own work. I know my Heavenly Father hears and answers my prayers, and he knows who I am and the trials that I have in my life. I love him and my Savior Jesus Christ and I'm striving to be better and more like him each day.

How I live my faith

I serve in my church in a variety of capacities. I work with the women and organize monthly events like book club, walking groups, sewing groups, & a Mom & me group. We sometimes meet together for special classes on cooking, or food storage, organizing, or things that we need help with. I also work with the girls 12 to 18 years old for a short time this summer. I will be going to girl's camp and since I'm a nurse I will be attending the week of camp and serving the girl's with their medical needs. It's always a great spiritual and fun time to go to girl's camp. Another thing I do a couple nights a weeks is to help with the 10-11 year old girls. We get together for an hour and do fun activities like crafts, sewing, cooking, painting, and a couple times a year we have Mom/daughter and Daddy/daughter activities. It's a lot of fun!
