Hi I'm Dave

I'm a husband, a father, a chemist and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Dave. I have a wonderful family with a great wife and 7 children (and some fun grandkids). I have always loved chemistry and feel fortunate that I am able to make a good living as a chemist. The most powerful influence in my life is our Savior, Jesus Christ. His teachings and spirit guide me in all that I do. When I am faithful and following in His way, I truly feel the goodness and blessings that only He can provide. I am so thankful for Him.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were both faithful members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and taught me as a child to develop faith and trust in God. As I grew older and had many questions, they continued to offer guidance but did not force me to choose only what they believed. Through countless hours of scripture reading and prayers, along with long discussions on religion with many people, I came to understand that God the Father and Jesus Christ are real. The Holy Ghost can, and does, have a strong influence if we will listen to him as he testifies of the truths that come from God. Over many years I have continued to seek and find answers to hard questions and often feel the closeness of our Savior. He does live today and He loves us. He has touched my life in ways that I cannot express in words and I have been changed for the better as a result. As I continue to strive to live worthily, I feel His guidance, patience, and love. He is real. He lives. I am able to confidently go to church knowing that I will learn important truths, feel the Spirit, and have opportunities to serve and help others in ways that will bring blessings to my life. For this I am truly grateful.

How I live my faith

For many years I have participated in church activities of many kinds. Visiting people in hospitals and nursing homes as well as in their own homes helps me better understand how Christ wants us to treat one another. Participating in service projects at parks and schools has also been a great positive influence in my life. I have been blessed to spend many years working with the Boy Scouts and watching many young men grow to be strong and capable adults. The Lord has given me many opportunities that I would otherwise have let pass me by. I am so glad for the gospel of Jesus Christ that not only provides ways to participate and serve but also give me a strong encouragement to get up out of my chair and go do it! What a great way to improve my life this has been.
