Hi I'm Wesley H.

I'm a computer wizard. I'm a writer. I'm an anime fan. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love having fun, and having fun in a lot of different ways. I guess that mainly takes three forms. First off, I love computers! Even if I'm just dabbling with them, oh what fun it is to buy, build, program, design, or do just about anything with computers. So that just so happens to be the major that I'm pursuing now at Brigham Young University (Computer Animation). Then there's Japanese, there's something about the Japanese culture and the language that just wants to make you smile. I love it and I think I always will. I love reading anime and manga and will occasionally make it out to a convention. Video Games are a fun addition to the day if I have the time! Then finally, I love feelings expressed in written word. I love lyrics to songs, quotes that inspired the world, and just a good old book. With whatever time I have, I love to express myself by writing, be it a story, poem, or just a good old journal.

Why I am a Mormon

This ones a little more deep than you might think. It's true that I've been a member ever since I can remember, but the reason I stayed a member is more interesting. I really thought about this at the beginning of college, because there was no one to say whether I had to or didn't have to go. I didn't have any friends or family to encourage me to go to church. It was then I really pondered the promise made in the Book of Mormon. I had always just assumed it was true, because my parents thought it was. Still, my parents and everyone who attended church seemed to feel something strong, a peace and a joy from this gospel that quite frankly I lacked in my life. I could say the same words as everyone else, but something still felt empty. So, I really wanted to come to find if this joy was really there, because I knew that if it was there, I wanted it. So, I found myself for 2 months praying and pondering about the Book of Mormon regularly and going to church every week in an effort to find that joy. And I'll stand here to tell you this day that I felt a very real feeling of warmth and peace come over me at one point. I was at that point that I really could say that I began to believe for myself this was all true. I haven't felt that every hour of the day, but now I see that every good thing that has come into my life has come through following the teachings of Jesus Christ. So, I've been a Mormon to this day!

How I live my faith

I served for the the past two years as a volunteer missionary, someone who goes out into the world to share the message of this gospel and help guide them to find the truth for themselves, in the Kansai region of Japan. I've yet to assume another responsibility, but I love the small congregation where I attend with all my heart. So, if nothing else, I just make sure everyone has a friend they can depend on.
