Hi I'm Mark

I'm a native Montanan, an educator and a father. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

First of all, I'm a husband and a father of five great kids (all of whom are adults but they're still my kids). I'm a person who loves living in a place where there are seasons and I love the outdoors. I enjoy doing things with my family, hiking, picnics, and being around water. It's great to enjoy the beauties of nature. I am also a lifelong educator and currently a school principal. It's nice to work at a job where I can influence other people---especially young ones.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm the product of generations of Mormons and have made the choice to be a member of Christ's restored church. Why? It's really simple. It teaches truth and answers the critical questions that help build a foundation for a happy life here on earth and living together with my family in the life to come. Everything about the church makes me a better person. I am able to come to know, in a very personal way, my Savior and Redeemer, Jesus Christ. The church contains the restored authority on the earth to administer the ordinances necessary to progress. What an incredible blessing! I want that for me and for my family.

How I live my faith

Service is an expectation and blessing of being a member of the church. Indeed we become brothers and sister and are willing to mourn with those that mourn and comfort those in need of comfort. Membership in the church allows us to serve and interact with one another and knock off those rough corners of our character that are naturally present. I serve as a home teacher to several families that I have opportunity to visit and teach. I also serve on a church council that is charged with assisting with the administration of the church. I enjoy visiting different church units and getting to know people who are working hard to be Christlike.

Who wrote the Book of Mormon?

Ancient prophets who lived on the American continents recorded their religious history. This record was handed down and preserved by divine intervention. The last of the prophets was named Mormon and he compiled the writing of previous record-keepers. That's why the book bears his name while it is actually written by different prophets. As you read you'll discover that the teachings of the Book of Mormon testify clearly about the role and mission of Jesus Christ and of his atonement for us. You'll find that the record verifies the truths of the New Testament and includes clear teachings that will speak to your soul. The key thing is that you can find out for yourself that the Book of Mormon is true. You don't have to take the word of anyone else---that's the wonder of the church. You can feel the influence of the Holy Ghost confirming the truth to you. Show more Show less
