Hi I'm Janice Frye

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a recent college graduate. Married for 2 years, and we have a puggle named Shelby.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 12 I found out I had a rare genetic disorder called Von-Hipple Lindau or VHL for short. My mother has had to endure many difficulties through her venture with VHL and my grandmother and uncle have passed away because of it. The day we found out, my mother sat me down and gave me the power to change my own life. "Janice, today you have a big decision to make. This disease can control you, or you can choose to control this disease. You can choose to let it keep you from being happy, or you can choose to be happy no matter what." Even though the tumor in my brain was causing me to have severe depression, that day I chose to be happy and take control of my life, and that meant to choose to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Since that incident with brain surgery in 2000 I have managed to escape many of the complications of VHL. However, within the last two years I have found out I have kidney cancer, and I've had 3 major brain surgeries that should have put me on life support. My husband also had to make the decision to marry me, even with these issues. Through all of the unsure moments, and saying goodbye, one thing is for sure, these have been the best years of my life so far, and through faith in our savior, Jesus Christ, this has been a time of growth and perspective. A time to enjoy what we have and to continually choose, each day, to be happy.

How I live my faith

My husband and I love our ward activities! Whether it's camping out or chili cook off, there is never a dull moment!
