Hi I'm Jared

I love quoting movies, biking, skiing, running, friends, family, and being a Mormon. I'm looking forward to serving a mission

About Me

I'm a quiet guy, unless you get to know me like my friends do. Then I'm crazy. I'm most comfortable around my home because that's where my heart is, and nothing is greater than being around my family. I am figuring out my future right now, as all younglings must do when they reach adulthood, and as in most cases like mine it's quite terrifying and exciting. I'm thinking about becoming a Mechanical Engineer, or an Aeronautical Engineer, or something awesome like that. I've been a Mormon since day one and loving it. My mission preparations are underway, I'll be turning in my papers near mid November and I can't wait to serve for two years wherever I am called. I have no doubts about serving a mission, and I know that it is what the Lord wants me to do and prepare for.

Why I am a Mormon

I have never had an exact moment of joining one side or the other. My testimony has been very gradual, since I was born and raised an average Mormon. Now I'm 18 and facing the choice of a mission, or continuing education. Life is coming at me fast! I really wanted to do both, but I decided that 2 years is more important than a single semester of college. Obviously, the finances are having an effect on my choice between the two also (not going to go into the details), and I'm okay with putting my trust in the Lord. The Lord's work is more important, and I really want to have a hand in it, because I know the principles and teachings of the Book of Mormon and the Church of Jesus Christ are right and good.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day by being an example and not following the crowd. Through many challenges I've learned to be optimistic and have faithful prayer. Few things are stronger in overcoming challenges than these two tools, the strongest, in my opinion, being the Atonement.
