Hi I'm Liz

I'm a Mormon. That means I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and am a disciple of Christ.

About Me

Music has been a big influence on my life. I started out on violin but had to quit when I went to Catholic School. Then I picked up the flute and have played for 20 years. I started playing trumpet a few years ago and have yet to progress but I'm still interested. I am taking piano lessons right now because I want to be able to play hymns in church and write my own songs. I once thought I wanted to be a lyricist but turned to poetry instead. I write a poem every day. Some are not so good but I do like how it feels to get my thoughts out on paper or a saved file on my PC. I like to meet new people and really get to know them. I love to read books that help me understand the world or learn something that will take time to understand and more reading.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was 19 years old and Connecticut University, I wanted to know if God existed. I tried to pray. I served with Habitat for Humanity. I spoke with a friend I trusted. That friend is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or a Mormon. She introduced me to a group of people who I felt good around. They had something I wanted in my life. I spoke with missionaries and they inspired me to pray and ask God if the Book of Mormon is true and if Joseph Smith was a prophet. I did pray. I knew I wanted to believe. I knew I wanted to be like the people who made me feel good. I knew I wanted to continue to be around them and learn from them, with them. I love the people of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because of their faith in God and His son, Jesus Christ, and because of their hope for a better world. We can learn God's will and do it because we have the desire and the gift of the Holy Ghost to guide us.

How I live my faith

God wants us to love each other. I try to love everyone I meet. I want them to know that they can trust in God and Jesus Christ. I want them to know that they are not alone because I know that I am not alone. My faith is what moves me to do good to all men, even if that means I must say sorry for my mistakes. I don't intend to hurt others but it is my faith that encourages me to fix the wrongs and make them right. It is my faith that helps me to change for the better.
