Hi I'm John

I grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico and served a mission in Malaga, Spain. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After a two year mission to Spain, I returned and graduated from Ricks College, Brigham Young University, and the University of Utah. Even though I attended both BYU and the U of U, I bleed blue. While at Ricks College I decided to pursue a career in Healthcare Administration. I am currently a manager at a local hospital. I have a great wife and three beautiful little girls. My hobbies include hanging out with my wife and daughters, reading, working around the house, watching tv, movies and BYU Football.

Why I am a Mormon

I often find myself reflecting back on the experiences that have led to my being an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Even though we can categorize experiences as positive or negative, I have always tried to find out what my Father in Heaven wants me to know or learn. One of the most difficult experiences that I have had was the passing of my father back in October of 2002. Up until that point in my life, I had some exposure to relatives passing away, but not a parent or immediate family member. What surprised me most about this experience was the overwhelming amount of love I felt from my father and my Father in Heaven. Yes, I lost my father and that's not something I would like to go through again, but I was given the ability to understand that while painful, the end of life on this earth is not the end of our spirits. Since a young age, I have always felt the gospel to be true; not that I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt, but between what I felt and what I saw and heard from those around me, the gospel has always seemed to make sense. Before my mission, I had tested some of the doctrine and principles. While on my mission, I had experience after experience that continually strengthened my testimony of my Savior. I recall reading from the scriptures and feeling the Holy Ghost confirm that what I was reading was true. As I would share my testimony, the truth of what I shared would burn within me. I'm grateful for a Father in Heaven who continues to give us guidance through His prophets and through the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by strengthening my family and those who are around me. I enjoy serving in the Church and I strive to assist the men and single sisters in our ward. As I go through the experience of being a parent, I find a lot of my time and dedication turn towards the responsbilities of being a good husband and father.
