Hi I'm Dan Grange

I'm a Mormon. I am a husband, a father to two kids and a landscaper. After my family and the gospel, what I love most is eating.

About Me

I grew up in the mile-high air outside of Denver, Colorado. I was fortunate to spend my childhood with good friends in and out of the church and a loving, supportive family. Along with husband an father, I am a former missionary, a college graduate and a school shooting survivor. I count my wife, son and daughter as my greatest blessings. I am also grateful to have a job in a tough economic situation. Currently, I work for a residential design-build landscape company in Fairfield County, Connecticut. One of my favorite hobbies is food. I am an amateur cook and an accomplished eater. Specifically, I love to eat food from other countries. West Indian, Thai, Mexican, Brazilian and Peruvian are some favorites.

Why I am a Mormon

The short story: my parents raised me as a Mormon, attending church nearly every Sunday and teaching me the standards of the standards that they lived by. Truly, I am a Mormon because I always felt like it was the right thing to do. I was taught about prayer, and I knew that through prayer I could communicate with God. I was taught to serve others, and when I did, I felt good. When it came time to commit two years of my life to a church mission, this general "right" feeling did not seem like enough. Through the guidance of a good friend and leader, I dedicated myself to read the Book of Mormon from cover to cover. Taking breaks from my studies at university (or maybe I should say, finding a way to ignore them) I read 10-20 pages a day. I would pray daily and ask God if the book was true. Eventually, I felt a powerful but peaceful feeling that the Book of Mormon was an inspired and true record. I continue to feel this peace as I read the book and apply it's teachings. I am a Mormon today because the teachings I learn help me to find peace through turmoil and to be a better man.

How I live my faith

To me, living my faith is about little things each day. It is about daily prayer, spending time reading and learning more about the gospel, looking for opportunities to serve and trying to be a little bit better each day.
