Hi I'm Alan

I joined this church many years ago. It is the best thing I ever did. I know Christ is my savior. I know my part in this life.

About Me

I am married to a wonderful woman. We have eight children and nine grandchildren. I work in the oil exploration industry, which has been interesting to me. I am happy to spend part of my free time serving in the church with opportunities that have varied over the years. I have grown greatly in so doing.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was in college I had become completely disinterested in the church I was raised in or any other church. However, I became acquainted with a Mormon who explained his beliefs to me. To my surprise, he was able to answer all the questions and doubts I had about religion. He explained why we are here and what we need to do in this life. I contacted the missionaries, who continued the explanation of these great things. They introduced me to the Book of Mormon and asked that I pray for confirmation that it is a true book of scripture from the Lord. I did just that and received revelation in my heart that made it clear the book is true. The rest is history. I love this church and the people in it.

How I live my faith

As church members we have guidance from the scriptures and from a living prophet how we should live our lives. While observing this counsel can be challenging, the effort to live as directed from the Lord leads to a life that is happier and more fulfilling than any other path. I serve in church service, as do so many others in the church. Continuing in the path laid out in the church makes all of life's situations more understandable and easier to deal with properly.
