Hi I'm Rick Shattuck

Our relatives first came to the Bay Area back in 1908. I am a native Californian, a native of San Jose and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in San Jose, California at the same hospital where my father was born and where my grandfather moved when he was two years old. I am a native Californian. My profession is a "Human Resources Business Partner". I've worked in the Human Resources field for close to 30 years. I am happily married and a father of four and grandfather of two. I love cycling, swimming, gardening and spending time with my wife!

Why I am a Mormon

Although I grew up in a family that are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I continue to be a member because of my belief and testimony in the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. There is no doubt in my mind that reading the scriptures and following the teachings of Christ will help in every aspect of life. As I read The Book of Mormon it answers many of the questions about the purpose of life and teaches me how to find true happiness.

How I live my faith

I serve actively in the church and attend various meetings throughout the week and on the weekend. My greatest joy in the church is working with the youth. I have been privileged to serve in leadership callings (positions) where I have had the opportunity to work closely with the youth and to train the youth leaders. I try to be an example of a follower of Christ by being honest in all I do and being kind to those around me. I want people to know I am a Mormon and live my life in such a way that when we meet, they feel the peace that comes from believing in Christ and living in the manner that He taught.
